Why we
started Dwar.

Dwar begins with a person who has a reason to try.

Someone wants to help their dog. Someone keeps returning to the track, trying to understand where time is lost. Care, ambition and curiosity can give unfamiliar work a purpose long before there is a clear path through it.

Those are the kinds of starting points that brought Dwar into focus. What might happen if we could work beside that person, with AI, practical tools and people whose expertise could help? What would make the journey worth following? And what could we learn from the work itself?

Different experiences.
A shared question.

Aditya Tiwari brings applied AI and scientific computing together with music. His place in Dwar connects the collaboration beside a person to the evidence needed to understand and test an attempt.

Gaurav Parajuli brings experience in acting and music. His focus is the films and music through which an audience could encounter the work, understand its stakes and stay with the person pursuing it.

Shaunak Bhatia brings experience in rowing programme development. Sport offers a way to think about progression, anticipation and returning to an attempt. His focus is how those ideas could shape Dwar’s audience relationships and participation.

Shamil Khan brings professional software experience alongside drumming and an interest in music production. He has helped bring musicians together to form a band. His focus in Dwar is contributing to the music and developing software tools that support the research as it grows.

We are developing these contributions around the same work. The person remains the author of their attempt. Film can give that journey a form people want to follow. Research can examine what changed, what helped and what the evidence supports.

Rooted in Jamshedpur.

All four of us come from Jamshedpur. That connection is carried in VIVVII, pronounced “VV”. VI, V and VII represent the separate digits 6, 5 and 7, a reference to the city’s telephone code.

Dwar carries the idea of a doorway. It is an opening into something unfamiliar, with a person’s own reason for entering. That is the invitation we want the work to hold.

Still taking shape.

We are developing the documentary proposition and the research design together. The first stories, production relationships and study still need to take shape through careful work with the people involved.

Our ambition is to make journeys that matter in their own right, and to discover whether what we learn can become useful beyond a single attempt.
